2.5 User

By using the filing card “User”, it is possible to add users to the system or to delete them from it.

The administration of users is necessary for communication with DCOM clients (such as, for

example, VisiWin or the VWOPC Agent). In addition, the Config Manager can be protected by

means of a password.

Instruction Description

Protect the

APConfigManager

with Password

Option to activate password protection for the “Config Manager”. The

password is defined in the dialogue facility which is opened by means of

the button “Change”. If the option is activated, this password is

demanded in advance each time the “Config Manager” is opened.

User→Name

Enter the user name which is to be registered.

User →Password

Enter the password for the user who is to be registered. It is necessary to

enter the name twice.

User→Add

The data entered under “Name” and “Password” are adopted into the list.

The password is no longer visible!!

User→Delete

The user marked in the list is deleted.

User→Change

It is possible to give a user marked in the list a new password, which will

then be adopted with “Change”.

The changes are adopted and the Config Manager is closed down.

Cancel

The changes are rejected and the Config Manager is closed down.

Apply

The changes are adopted and the Config Manager remains opened.
